What Is Social Networking For Business?

Social Networking is the practice of expanding the number of one's business and/or social contacts by making connections through other individuals. Historically, networking has been a nearly 100% "face to face" practice. Previously the procedure for an individual to expand their contacts and grow their network was as follows: One would join an organization or group that fostered formal gatherings often called networking mixers of people wanting to meet other people. Alternatively, the networking could be associated with some other event that brought people together and networking could occur. Some events would be specifically designed to bring people with similar interests together to network.

Internet Based Social Networking

In recent years, both social and business/professional networking have largely become activities conducted in cyberspace. The unparalleled potential of the Internet to promote such connections has been fully recognized and exploited through online social networking groups. These groups have been divided based upon whether their purpose is to promote social or business/professional networking. Some sites may be used for both purposes.

Based upon the six degrees of separation concept, (the idea that anyone on the planet can be connected to any other person on the planet through a chain of acquaintances that has no more than five intermediaries), social/business networking establishes interconnected Internet communities that help people make contacts that would be beneficial for them to know, but that they would be unlikely to have met otherwise. In general, here's how it works: you join one of the networking websites and invite people you know to join as well. Actually, some sites automatically invite people in your address book to join. Those people invite their contacts to join, who, in turn invite their contacts to join and the process repeats with each person. There are no geographical boundaries. In theory, any individual can make contact through anyone with whom they have a connection to any of the people that person has a connection with and so on.

Relevance and Impact of Social Networking Websites

One broad area most heavily impacted by Internet Networking is employment or more specifically, job searching and career management.
Online networking (based on six degrees of separation) using one or more of the web based networking services amplifies the scope and reach of your efforts by multiple magnitudes. It is a well known fact that the majority of available jobs are unlisted and are filled via the unadvertised or hidden job market. Networking has historically been the entrance to the hidden market and it often begins by contacting friends and professional contacts as well as new acquaintances.
In a rather short time span, the effective use of Internet Networking has become an essential aspect of any well-rounded job search strategy. If you don't use this tool, you are at a disadvantage whether you are unemployed and looking for a job or simply practicing career management by cultivating your contacts.

Social Networking for Job Searching and Career Development

The list of Internet based social networking groups is very long and still growing. Groups range in function from general social interaction to niche sites addressing very specific areas of shared interest to those who participate. Some sites are restricted to certain groups such as the employees of a company. Other sites are good platforms for promoting a business or advertising products.
As someone who is interested in maximizing your success in a chosen career, continual networking on you part will help you find a job if you lose yours and help you upgrade to a better position when necessary. Through networking, you will often know if there is a career advancement opportunity out there that you can excel in.
There is one particular networking website that currently stands out in supporting your employment/career needs.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn (LinkedIn.com) is a web based business oriented social network dedicated to helping business professionals create and manage extensive connection lists. Again, using the six degrees of separation concept, these lists ultimately extend well beyond the personal contacts that can be made by a single individual.
The design features of LinkedIn make it currently one of the most suitable and effective sites for both job searching and career development. Moneyemploymentbusiness.com recommends LinkedIn to any professional employee, independent contractor, or business owner for finding a job; optimizing career progression; finding new contacts; making sales; and identifying qualified new hire candidates.

Social Networking and Business

Social networking has become a major part of business and marketing. There are thousands of people who use social networking sites every single day, creating the perfect place to advertise and market your product or business. Social networks are a very valuable asset to getting your business known and obtaining a more reputable name for yourself, however; it's not easy. It takes time and perseverance to build an audience and get people to start trusting you.

Create an Account
The first, and obvious, step to getting your business involved in social networking, is to create an account. Facebook and Twitter are the main social media sites and perfect to get started on. Signing up is easy and only takes about five minutes.

Get Your Profile Ready
After you are signed up and ready to get started, you want to edit all your information. Make sure your personal information is up to date and the way you want it to be presented to your audience. If anyone wants know any additional information about you or your business, they should be able to find whatever they are looking for here.

Create a Page/Group
So you have your personal profile set up and updated. Now all you need to do is create a page or group so people can find your business. This page should tell your audience, in detail, the main message you are trying to get across. After you have all the main information shown, start thinking about how you want to present it. You are going to need a profile picture and also a cover photo for your page/group. This is going to be one of the first things someone looks at when they enter the page, so you want to make it appealing. You can easily do this by editing a picture in Paint or Photoshop.

Market Yourself
You have your personal profile and also an individual page set up for your business. All your information is updated and ready to be seen by the entire social networking community. The only thing left for you to do is to market yourself. You want to obtain followers and friends any way you can, so to start yourself off it's going to be a slow process. Always continue to add people and then build on mutual friends. This may not be the fastest way, but it will get your message out there. After awhile of repeating this process, people start coming to you instead.

After building your reputation up for a few months, continue to keep building. Never stop trying to grow. The more reputation you gain, the easier it will be for people to find you. This also helps people decide if they want to know more about your business just by seeing how big of a community you have built.

A Start In Affiliate Marketing

When I first started to venture into Affiliate Marketing and working at home, I quickly discovered that I somehow needed to acquire the virtues of patience, perseverance, and hope. These I have come to know are extremely vital to my success.

I began with such a small amount of financial resources and so little basic computer skills, that I was truly afloat in unchartered waters. But I had the drive and desire to do this so I set out to do just that.
First of all, I would like to say thank you to the successful marketers who spend their time and resources in educating and guiding people like me, to find the way to becoming a success. Without these generous people, I know I'd really be lost..so thank you!!

I started to sign up to some great affiliate marketing sites and with the help of You Tube I began watching a wide variety of tutorial videos on building a website, marketing techniques, and promoting products. And a host of other necessary "things" that I needed to learn how to do. This includes learning a lot of computer skills that I had no knowledge of. I would simply type a search word in to my browser, like how to cut and paste, or how to upload a video, and on and on I went. Now of course all of this didn't cost any money at all.

There are a great number of affiliate programs that I signed up for where I started to learn about the "lingo", so to speak, that is a part of internet marketing. What the various words meant and how to apply them in my marketing endeavor. For example, links, FTP, analytics, SEO, PPC, and so many more.
I was able to invest a small amount of money, which I needed to do, to build my first website. It was $10.00 to register a domain name and about $9.00 a month for hosting. Surly I cannot complain about that! When it comes to the financial part of things I'm really on a shoestring budget. Of course have more money than what I have would enable me to get a little more creative and productive with my campaigns. But I'm thankful as is, and I have found that I can eventually start to bring in an income (though that hasn't happened yet) if I just persevere and continue to learn from others.

Now in regards to the unlimited number of systems that guarantee an enormous amount of money while you hardly do anything, and there are so many of them, all I will say is buyer beware. For me this is a lot of hard work with the study involved and the mindset that I need to get in to. Which is basically, what are people searching for online, what problems are they having that they would like solved, and of course lets not forget about playtime too!!

So in closing, I've learned that this is a goal within my reach and I can succeed on a limited budget if I persevere and continue to stay headed in the right direction!

How Can I Make Extra Money From My Blog Site?

A few years back, blogs became a hit. Seeing that it is a great way to share opinions, ideas, and stories, a lot of people started to put up their own blogs just so they can share its content with their friends and families. Some made a wise move of making their blog site a channel to earn money, while some have no idea how it is done. If you have been asking yourself, "How can I make extra money from my blog site?" wonder no more. Here are a few ideas that can help you generate some extra cash from the blog sites that you have been sustaining with great content for the past few years.

-Pay per Post

If other companies or websites see that your site is getting a steady flow of traffic from the market they are targeting, they would want to be able to direct some of that traffic to their site. One way to do this is to hire you to write and post a blog or article that will feature a link of their website. It could be a review or a niche article that will make you recommend their product or service. In return, you will be paid for the article you wrote.

-Ad Space for Rent

Your page usually has extra spaces at the top, sides, and bottom. Instead of leaving them empty, you can lease those spaces to companies or merchants who would want to advertise their businesses on your site. Large banners at the header are paid higher than those on the sides. Advertisers can continue showing their ads for weeks or months, depending on your deal.

-Affiliate Marketing

You can sell other companies' products on your blog site, too. All you have to do is find an affiliate program on the web that offers a good commission for any sale you make. Once you have registered, you can choose any product under their line and feature them on your site. One good tip is to choose products that are associated to your site's niche.

-Pay per Click Advertisements

You can sign up on any advertising network and once you are approved; you can place their ads on your pages. Every time your visitors click on those advertisements, you will get paid. This has a huge potential to earn big revenue if your site is very popular and gets huge daily traffic.

Now that you have this information, you no longer have to ask yourself, "How can I make extra money from my blogs?" Just pick from any of these ideas and start earning those extra cash with very little effort.

How To Make Money Online By Selling Stock Photography

Who wouldn't want to make extra cash these days? If you have the passion for photography burning in you, a career in photography would be a great idea! This can be a lucrative service business for many people. There are a lot of digital cameras in the market to choose from that can suit your type. But that was not what I wanted to talk about today...

First, let's talk business

Starting a photography home service business can be profitable if you're passionate about photography and if you know how to market your photos. There are many businesses who need photos that are significant to their projects but do not have much time to take these pictures due to their hectic schedules. They choose to buy stock photos rather than hiring a professional photographer, not only to save money but time as well because these photos are ready to use.

What is stock photography?

Stock photography refers to a collection of high quality images that are used for creative and business purposes. Stock photos are not photographed for a specific client or use but depict a more general concept. It's a win-win situation for all parties involved in stock photography. The buyers get the desired photo, the stock photography agencies get a percentage of every photo sold on their website, and the photographer gets the remaining percentage.

What do I need to start selling stock photography?

You need a high-quality digital SLR camera and lenses. There are a lot of cameras in the market with great features but you need a bigger budget for DSLRs. They are ideal but are expensive. Fortunately, when you're in a tight budget, there are some stock photo agencies that will accept micro-stock photos from digital cameras of at least two to three pixels.

You will also need some kind of software for making adjustments to your stock photos. You need it to remove imperfections in your photos and to adjust the colors and contrasts in your photos. The well-known software used for editing is Adobe Photoshop. There are a lot of tutorials you can search that will help you improve your editing skills.

What are the guidelines in stock photography?

There are strict guidelines you need to follow when taking pictures for a stock photography business. In order for your photos to be considered stock photo quality, they need to be modest, properly taken, skilfully exposed and with high resolution.

These photos must be what your customers are looking for. You must be able to have an in-depth understanding of the markets and how and what to shoot. You must also know what images are regularly required but in short supply.

You need your photos to be of its highest quality. You need to make certain that there are no visible noises or grains in your stock photos. They need to be clear of smudges, and unnecessary background items.Where can I sell my stock photos?

There are a lot of stock photography agencies where your photos can be sold. These websites have guidelines on what you should acquire in order to make a successful photo submission.

A few examples:

The challenge in selling your stock photos is its uniqueness and versatility. You have a lot of competitors. In order to double your chances of selling a photo, choose a specific niche market. A niche market is a narrowed selection of a larger and more generic market. Look for what's in demand, learn from it and try to fill the holes of your chosen niche market.

Quality is the most important criteria on all stock photography sites. Make sure your photos have high resolutions to maximize your chances of success.

Live, Love, Enjoy!
